Everything you need to meet OSHA 29 CFR 1910.178(l)

Know who's cleared to drive.
Every operator, every forklift, every day.

Operators take the course on their phone in English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean and more. You do the hands-on evaluation and sign it off. LiftRoster keeps your certification records, reminds you before every 3-year renewal, and logs every pre-shift forklift check from a QR sticker.

Operator training records (1910.178(l)) and daily forklift examinations (1910.178(q)(7)) in one place. The employer certifies; the hands-on evaluation is done in person. See it on-site or over a quick video call, or get started now with a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Training, daily checks and renewals, start to finish

Real app footage: an operator flags a defect on a phone, and the office dashboard shows it the moment it happens.

Course in their language

Short lessons and a quiz on the topics OSHA lists, in English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean and more. Works on any phone or computer.

Hands-on sign-off

A practical evaluation checklist your trainer or supervisor completes on the floor. No sign-off, no certificate.

Certificates & renewals

Printable employer certificate and wallet card with every record field in 1910.178(l)(6). Reminders at 90, 60, 30 and 7 days.

QR daily checks

Stick a QR on each forklift. Operators scan, tap OK or Defect on every item. Any defect tags the forklift out right away.

How it works

Step 1

Add your people and forklifts

Add your operators with their forklift classes (I to VII), add each forklift, print its QR sticker. Or we come out and set it up with you.

Step 2

Train, then evaluate

Operators finish the course and quiz. Your qualified evaluator watches them drive in your workplace and signs off.

Step 3

Stay current

Certificates, renewal dates and every daily check live in one place. Pull an audit report in one click.

No evaluator on site? We've got you.

Have a qualified evaluator on site? You're all set. Don't have one? We'll send a trainer for the hands-on evaluation (quoted per visit).

Questions

Can I see it before I buy?

Yes. Book a demo and we'll show you LiftRoster in person at your site, or over a quick video call or phone screen-share if you're outside our area.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes, a 30-day money-back guarantee. If LiftRoster isn't right for you within 30 days of your first payment, email support@liftroster.com for a full refund.

Is this "OSHA certification"?

No, and nobody can sell that. OSHA doesn't certify operators; the employer does. OSHA requires formal instruction, hands-on practical training, and an evaluation of each operator in your workplace by a qualified person. LiftRoster covers the formal instruction and keeps the records. Your trainer or supervisor still runs the hands-on training and evaluation, and you sign the certification.

How often do operators need to be re-evaluated?

At least once every 3 years, and sooner after an accident or near miss, unsafe driving, a bad evaluation, a new type of forklift, or a change in the workplace. LiftRoster tracks the 3-year date and lets you trigger a refresher any time.

How often do forklifts need to be checked?

Before being put in service, at least daily, and after each shift if forklifts run around the clock. Defects must be reported and the forklift kept out of service until it's fixed.

Do operators need an app?

No. Everything runs in the web browser on any phone or computer. Operators scan the QR sticker with their camera, and managers can keep the dashboard open on an office computer to see checks and defects live.

Which languages is the course in?

English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese (Simplified), Korean and Tagalog. Each operator picks a language on the course page and can switch any time. The lessons, pictures and quiz are the same in every language. The translations are new and are being checked by native speakers, and the English version is the official text.

What if we don't have anyone to do the hands-on evaluation?

No problem. We'll send a trainer to your site to do the hands-on evaluation, quoted per visit. You still sign the certification.

Is the course reviewed?

The course is being reviewed by a full-time forklift trainer before launch.

We're in California. Does this cover Cal/OSHA?

Cal/OSHA's forklift rule (Title 8 §3668) follows the same train, evaluate, certify and re-evaluate pattern. Your records live in one place either way; check with your safety advisor for any state-specific extras.
